Pastor Miles McPherson

Miles McPherson, author of Do Something! Make Your Life Count, is a man radically transformed by God. Miles is the Senior Pastor of the Rock Church in San Diego, one of the fastest growing churches in the United States.

A former defensive back with the San Diego Chargers, Miles also is President and founder of Miles Ahead, an outreach ministry focused on sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with teens and adults all over the world. Two years into his pro football career, Miles was battling a drug problem and living an immoral lifestyle. That's when he gave his life to Jesus Christ, and never looked back. Miles began to work as a Bible teacher, youth pastor and speaker with a track record of appealing to diverse audiences, large and small.

Known for his frank and funny delivery, Miles loves to call people to think about how God has prepared them to do something significant with their lives. He's a prolific speaker, one who can talk to anyone - from prison inmates to senior citizens. He challenges everyone to go out and do something for God!

Mr. Jeffrey Hawkins

Jeffrey A. Hawkins currently serves as Manager of Strategic Initiatives for the Private Security Sector at American Military University, located in the DC Metro area. He is also an Emeritus Faculty and Director of Faith Based Security for the Security Executive Council. Hawkins is a 30-year veteran of law enforcement and security and has served as Executive Director for the Christian Security Network and Chief Security Officer for a world-wide Christian Ministry.

Mike Diggs

Born and raised in the inner city of Washington DC. Attended public schools graduating in 1980. Attended college at Harvard University, Cambridge Ma until 1986 then worked 18 years in Law Enforcement with the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland. Mike worked various assignments including serving as a member on several federal task forces. He retired as a Detective Supervisor in the Major Crimes Division in 2004 after receiving the "Blue Heart" medal for line of duty injury.

Mike then began a second career an investigator for Homeland Security in Washington D.C. and transferred to the San Diego office in 2006. In early 2007 Mike transitioned to Director of Safety and Security at the Rock Church. At the Rock, San Diego's largest church and the 19th fastest growing church in the nation, Mike built on the existing 15 member volunteer Security program and partially designed and fully implemented the physical security aspects of The Rock's 218,000 square ft. Academy and 3,500 seat worship facility.

The Rock has an average weekly attendance of 13,000, is a school K-12, has two retail locations, one satellite facility and regularly handles more than it's share of security concerns and challenges. 230 security volunteers currently serve at two campuses for all 5-weekend services and all special events.

Ms. Wendy Patrick
SAN DIEGO COUNTY DEPUTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY

In her current assignment in the Sex Crimes and Stalking Division she prosecutes cases involving vice, human trafficking, child molestation, and sexually violent predators. Ms. Patrick is an accomplished speaker, lecturing nationally and internationally on the topics of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and child molestation. She has been involved locally with the San Diego Domestic Violence Council, the San Diego Child Protection Team, and the Sexual Assault Response Team. Ms Patrick has provided commentary and been widely published on the subject of sex crimes, stalking in the workplace, cyberstalking, and sexual harassment issues.

Ms Patrick will be sharing her dynamic presentation and extensive expertise about the prevalence and impact of sex crimes and stalking in every aspect of society, and how to increase awareness and institute preventative measures in the faith based community. Among her many professional accomplishments, Ms. Patrick has been a Chair of the San Diego County Bar Association’s (SDCBA) Ethics Committee for over five years, is Vice Chair of the California State Bar’s Standing Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct (COPRAC has been featured as a media topic area expert on the radio as well as on both local and international television. Ms. Patrick is published on a regular basis. She is co-author of the revised version of the New York Times bestseller Reading People (Random House 2008), and was a contributing author to the Encyclopedia of Race and Racism.

Ms. Patrick received her Bachelors degree in psychology with honors from the University of California Los Angeles, and her Law Degree from California Western School of Law. On a personal note, Ms. Patrick holds a purple belt in Shorin-Ryu karate, is a concert violinist with the La Jolla Symphony, and plays the electric violin professionally with a rock band, performing both locally and in Hollywood. Regarding Ms. Patrick’s true passion in life, she holds a Master of Divinity degree summa cum laude from Bethel Seminary San Diego where she was awarded the Excellence in Preaching Award and the Zondervan Biblical Languages Award. She also holds a Certified Biblical Counseling Certificate from Horizon College.

Mr. Peter A. Persuitti

Mark Crofton

Mark Crofton currently serves the citizens of the State of California as a Patrol Sergeant for the California Highway Patrol. He has previously served as an administrator for an Area office that encompasses over 400 square miles. Prior to his current assignment, Sgt. Crofton served as the Academic Supervisor at the California Highway Patrol Academy in Sacramento Ca, where in addition to his administrative duties, taught all facets of current criminal law and search and seizure practice as it applies to law enforcement. Sgt. Crofton has extensive experience in police tactics and the National Incident Management System (NIMS/SEMS) and teaches government agencies on a regular basis.

Mark served as a Regional Director for Promise Keepers "in the early years" and has coached High School sports “on and off” for 15 years. He is active with several youth organizations and is an avid supporter of Christian Camping, serving every summer to facilitate a west coast camp in San Diego, Ca. Mark and his wife Julie serve at the Rock Church in San Diego California. They have three grown sons and have been married for 27 years. Mark is a graduate of Biola University with a degree in Christian Education.

Chief Criss Brainard
San Diego Fire Department
EMS Deputy Chief, for San Diego Fire Rescue. Criss will be speaking on how any Church can improve their emergency medical response capability.
Chief Brainard has been with the San Diego Fire Department for 31 years and also has been a Paramedic for 34-years. Criss has extensive experience in emergency operations, is an instructor at EMSTA Paramedic College, speaks at national conferences, is a member of the Editorial Board for JEMS and has published numerous articles in fire and EMS journals.
